Chapter 1 - Choice
In a city, there was a girl named Isabelle. She traveled everyday in a chariot, together with other students, on her way to school; and everyday she caught sight of this boy whom she knew in her heart, they were meant to be. This boy, whom Isabelle not know his name, was of different school and noticed Isabelle's look at him. They were two love birds on one ride to different destinations. Though Isabelle thought of this boy-next-door type of guy all the time, her mind sometimes swings to another guy in school, much younger than her though. He was Juanito, known to many, and was described to be friendly and a happy-go-lucky person. Isabelle's friend, Maria, thinks Juanito is gay but Isabelle thought otherwise, she always defended Juanito.
Every morning, before school, Isabelle would tell what happened in the lovely chariot, where she and this guy she didn't know of would look at each other, stare at one another's hand or clothes. They were shy to talk to each other but they knew they liked one another. But once she reached the school and saw Juanito, her heart would speed and she would take her mind of the 'guy in the chariot'. The school was a small place, making it very easy to see this guy, plus Maria was close to Juanito's bestfriend which made it hard to avoid him.
She was stuck in the middle. The guy she saw everyday of her life and knew something about or the boy whose name she can't seem to know but her heart calls out to.
So who would she end up with?

Chapter 2 - Mystery guy
Usually, Isabelle would have the guts to sit right next to him which leads to them becoming closer and closer, the mystery guy pulling himself towards Isabelle; but sometimes, there would be no space for Isabelle and she would have to make do the with space across him. And when their across, they catch each other's gaze but look away for they are too reserved to show their inner feelings. Isabelle would notice this guy's eyes - like the moon in a dark sky, hair - tidied up, he was much taller than her and his lips - a deep luscious red. Once, during a gusty storm, the guy went back to his house via the chariot for he had forgotten his umbrella and Isabelle was there. At that moment, she caught a glimpse of this guy's looks, his shirt - decent and sweet - smelling, his pants - rugged and appealing, his hair - fashioned up and his dear house - now Isabelle new the location of her dream man. She was dazed for awhile as she was gaping upon a strikingly beautiful man, whom she knew she was in love with. Her heart raced as this guy was approaching the chariot; and once he was seated, the chariot journeyed toward the destinations. As soon as it arrived in the Academy, Isabelle's profound school, she departed the chariot and caught a quick glance of the guy whom she adored, looking at her, and she smiled. Isabelle always arrives in school early, she was among the few. It was worth it though, since everyday she would see that charming boy in the chariot and their eyes would meet and burn right through her fragile heart.

Chapter 3 - Juanito
The Academy has 2 main buildings, Ciencia and Constante. Ciencia was for the sabio or the wise; while Constante was for the parroquiano, the average people. Isabelle was a sabio, along with Juanito. The only difference was Isabelle was in 3rd year; while Juanito was a 2nd year. That was what kept them apart. Adrian Juanito Moreno was known to be popular in school though he wasn't handsome, he had an appeal. He was attractive. He was tall and thin; He had white complexion and slanted eyes. Isabelle seemed to always think about him. Whenever he passes by, Isabelle would smell his sweet scent, which was rather strong and fragrant. She would follow him with her eyes and gaze upon him. Was she betraying her mystery man? It's just a crush, she'd always say to herself. Juanito was rich. He loves to go shopping and his clothes we're not just your ordinary labels, they were branded. He dined at luxurious restaurants and fancy places. You wouldn't see him inside a mall or around the streets; though Isabelle once saw him in a stall where parroquianos usually hang out. Her friend Maria, always teased Juanito as gay; because of some doubtful signs. He's carriage was pink with hearts on it, he had many friends that were mostly girls and he liked to put his arms around his fellow boy friends. won't you think he's gay? But Isabelle always defended him. Her likeness for him would never fade even with these accusations. He was her inspiration. She needed that, for life in the Academy was stressful place, and Juanito was the kind of guy who would cheer her up.

Chapter 4 - Isabelle
It was a Monday morning, first day of the week for school again. Her mother came in, opened the windows and woke Isabelle up. Isabelle was first, hesitant, after all it was 5am in the morning; but because of her mother's perseverance, drowsily she got down her bed towards the bathroom. She washed her face and stared at the mirror. Her hair was rugged, eyes hazel brown and her skin was a fair complexion. She started brushing her long straight hair and tied it in a bow, "this would have to do", she told herself. She descended upon the staircase, ate breakfast and went back the bathroom to brush her teeth and smiled. After putting on her uniform, she made sure everything was all set; then heard the sound of the chariot. Her heart raced once again, any minute now she would see her man. She went out the gate and saw the chariot approaching half way to her home. She checked her mirror for one quick second. Her lashes we're curled, lips a deep red and eyes shaped like the earth. She had normal looks, the looks of a teenager in a normal life. She was stunned in a moment, the chariot was right in front of her; and Isabelle was not sure, but she saw the mystery guy staring at her. That was odd. As she was on her way to the chariot, her mom screamed "Isabelle Kate Turell! have you got your lunch with you?" Isabelle was embarassed and just nodded, she didn't know if he ever heard it.

Chapter 5 - Another Day
Isabelle was so embarrassed, she couldn't even look at that charming guy sitting across her; but in her peripheral vision, she could see him staring at her, gazing upon her for such a long time. Isabelle flushed, what did I do? She thought to herself. After a moment, she had the guts to look at him; but, wrong choice, once Isabelle tilted her head, Miguel - as she liked to call him, quickly changed his glance towards the window. Now that was really weird. The chariot reached The Academy. Isabelle descended down the chariot; and, sure enough, a gust of wind blew her skirt. She quickly held it and ran towards the school building. As if she wasn't humiliated enough. Isabelle scurried towards her classroom without even bothering to smile at the guard. Once again, she was the first person to enter the classroom. She decided to calm herself down first, what happened today was not going to interfere with such a lovely morning. Finally, people were starting to come, and as she was looking outside the room, someone in a green and white jacket passed by, he was white and Isabelle knew who this person was. Juanito. She got composed and went on over to the seat next to her friend, Daniel. They we're having a quiz and needed to review. "Who is the father of history?", Daniel asked. Isabelle thought for a second, she new this. She was reading about it while on the chariot, of course she wasn't fully concentrating on it because of Miguel. How can she concentrate with all the fuss that happened this morning? Isabelle gave out a big gasp and answered, "Herodotus?" Daniel nodded. Isabelle gave out a big smile, she was right, maybe what happened wasn't so bad after all. She found her inspiration. The question is, who was her inspiration? Miguel or Juanito?

Chapter 6 - Morning rights
Like every school, The Academy held morning rights. There was the oath to the country, singing of the anthem, and prayer to the gods and goddesses. Every class was lined up according to height. Isabelle was 6th in their line, at the back of Costanza, another close friend; while Juanito was near the last of theirs. At the front of the 3rd year section of the Sabio is the 2nd years, so it was easy to spot Juanito. So as hard as she tries, Isabelle couldn't keep her eyes off of him. She concentrated on the national anthem; but she can't stop but look at the person who was in front of her, Juanito. She remembered, one afternoon, while they were reviewing for an upcoming exam on physical education and math. For P.E. there was a practical quiz on dance steps, and for math - postulates. She was rehearsing with Maria while José was asking questions. Then right at their break for a while, Juanito emerged from the Constante building. She was shocked, stunned, she couldn't get hold of herself; suddenly, she blurted out, "Ruler Postulate" while holding Maria's hand for the Waltz position. Everyone who heard her, laughed. What was I thinking?!, she said to herself. She was completely out of her mind that time. Isabelle remembered everything perfectly clear, and went back to the present. That will never happen again! Full concentration! She thought to herself. Morning rights were done, and they were headed to their classes, she needed to concentrate. All her hard work could not just be thrown away just because of some guy. It's time to be serious.

Chapter 7 - Embarrassment
It was break time; and Isabelle was so hungry. She and Maria went down to the cafeteria. As always, Isabelle ordered the Avena Caliente, it was her favorite. While munching, she thought about her mystery guy for a while, Did he hear my mom?Was he looking when my skirt whooshed? Will I ever know his name? All these was going through her head she didn't even notice Maria was impatiently waiting for an answer. "Well...?", Maria blurted. Isabelle was bewildered for a second, "huh? what?". Maria gave a fuming then a puzzled look, What's wrong with this girl? She thought to herself; then uttered the question again. "How's life in the chariot?, anything new today? Miguel?" As if she was reading my mind, Isabelle thought. Isabelle narrated the story once again; and before they knew it, it was the 3rd floor, they reached their classroom. Isabelle was breathless after climbing the stairs. Maria was just laughing, the story that Isabelle told was hilarious. Her short brown hair was swaying left to right, eyes gleaming with delight together with her petite figure. Was it that bad?, Isabelle thought to herself. Oh no! I wonder what he's thinking right now. She proceeded to the classroom without even bothering to wait for Maria, she had a lot on her head; and then shortly and swiftly, someone white bumped into her. Isabelle went right at the same time Juanito did. Her eyes could not meet his. Finally, Juanito decided to stop, so Isabelle got the chance to walk to the opposite direction. It happened in seconds, but for Isabelle, that incident happened for hours.

Chapter 8 -Absence
Isabelle opened her eyes to a beautiful morning, checked the clock and saw that it was 7am. She ran downstairs, fuming. "Mamá! I will be late! The chariot has left me already!".Upon mentioning the chariot, Isabelle quickly thought of Miguel, is he missing me right now? Is he flirting with somebody else?. Then her mother gave out a burst of laughter, Isabelle glanced at her,how could she be laughing at this time?"Mamá! Mamá! stop laughing! What about school?"
what about miguel and juanito?, she asked to herself, worriedly. Her mother, realizing Isabelle was not joking, smiled and said,"Isabelle dear, it's a saturday, I can't beleive you forgot your favorite day of the week, too stressed in school maybe?"Isabelle was thrown aback for a second, she counted the number of days, the number of times she saw Miguel; and realized her mother was right, it was a Saturday. This was not her favorite day of the week. She went to her room disappointed, she wouldn't get to see Miguel or Juanito for today. Lying on her bed, she thought of Miguel - his soft look on the chariot, mysterious gestures and patronizing smile; and Juanito - his sweet scent, soothing voice and welcoming eyes. Isabelle just sighed, she would miss them. The question is, who did she miss more? Juanito or Miguel? She closed her eyes, and then slowly drifted to sleep.

."Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition".
Chapter 9 - Savior
She looked left then right; but there was no escape, the trees were all around her. She could hear the rage of creepy creatures and the owl's quite hymn, see the dark sky - there we're no stars in the sky,and feel the breeze of the wind, she shivered. Isabelle was stuck in the woods. She ran in circles, no stop until her feet can't handle it anymore. She leaned on a tree and tears started to fall. "How will I ever escape this forest", she told herself. Then suddenly, she heard a sound creeping near the bush. Isabelle got frightened and wanted to run; but what was the point? She was too weak. As the creature was approaching, her heart was racing faster; then it emerged from the bushes. She was shocked then blissed; there he was, standing 50 feet away from Isabelle, her savior. Her eyes were blurred from the tears that fell and she couldn't hear well anymore. The man was approaching her and kept asking, "Are you alright? I'm on my way! Don't worry!". Isabelle became composed, rescue was coming. She couldn't see clearly who this guy was. She then felt a warm hand carry her to the trees. Isabelle saw this guy vaguely, she caught sight of his hair - black and spiked, complexion - smooth and white and he was wearing a necklace with the letter "M" on it. M, this would forever be stuck in Isabelle's heart, she would remember the man who saved for life. Her vision was still unclear, she didn't realize her Mamá was right in front of her. Her mother was shedding tears and welcomed her daughter with open arms. The guy placed Isabelle on the couch. Isabelle shivered, her Mamá quickly got a blanket and wrapped it around her; but Isabelle was not cold, she was scared that her savior might leave her. She was too frail, she wanted to sleep; but she contained herself, she won't let her guy out of her sight. Isabelle could hear her mother, talking to the man, praising and gratifying him with all her life. This is good, Isabelle thought to herself, at least "M" would be stuck here. She caught various questions her Mamá said, if he liked to stay for dinner, was it he's job to save people and "Do you want to see Isa's baby pictures?". Isabelle was caught off guard. She quickly arose from the couch and said, "Mamá! Mamá! DON'T!!!!" But it was too late, "M" - guy saw it, her humiliating baby photos.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Isabelle swiftly got up her bed, "it was just a dream", she sighed a relief. It was ALL a dream; but she couldn't help but think, who was that guy? Who was her savior? Why did it have to be a vague image? His hair was spiky, Miguel? But his complexion was white, Juanito then? But the most important detail, he was wearing a necklace with the pendant "M", that was tricky. Isabelle was never sure if her chariot guy's name was Miguel, she doesn't even know what letter it starts with. Juanito could not be it. Right? But that letter "M" could mean so many things. It could be a gift from his mother or worst - case scenario, the name of his girlfriend. Isabelle could not be even sure if that was a letter M, it was very vague. Did her dream really mean anything? She couldn't get back to sleep after that, Isabelle kept on thinking, "Go back to reality, that was just a dream, it doesn't mean anything".

"True love never dies."
Chapter 10 - Fed - up?
He was there, sitting across her, Miguel. Early this morning Isabelle was so anxious to go to The Academy, to ride the chariot, to see him. She woke up with a happy smile and gay strides. Her eyes have been curled, face powdered and hair neatly tied up. Isabelle scrolled her books, wondering why Miguel wasn't. It was always like these, All the students had their bags and books with them except for Miguel and Isabelle always wondered why. Doesn't he study? He was a sabio in his school., all these were going through her head until she suddenly noticed. Miguel wasn't looking at her, not even a glimpse. Puzzled, she looked at him and saw that he was listening to his el jugador música; Isabelle got irritated. Was she paranoid? or just obsessed? Isabelle looked at him, hoping he would look back; but she failed. Isabelle's stare was no match for the power of music. She crossed her legs and looked at the other side, still hoping; but no luck. The chariot had reached her destination. She went down and saw Miguel look at her, she smiled but that was not enough. Was he fed -up? Isabelle missed Miguel so much, and all it took was one look; but she was not contented with that look. Before, Miguel used to stare until Isabelle would melt; but this time, it was just a simple glimpse. A glimpse of Goodbye. She shook the thought, "that would never happen", she thought to herself.

Chapter 11 - Hidden
As she entered the classroom door, Isabelle kept thinking. What if he was fed - up? Is it too late? Should I speak to him already? Must I wait? Maybe he wasn't in the mood back then, with all these thoughts Isabelle became dizzy. She sat for a while; then she felt the gusty wind. Chills went down her spine. Then suddenly, someone or something, banged on the door. She became frightened. She ran towards the door and searched. No one was there. She went outside; and sat on the staircase. Isabelle waited for people, while observing her school. The aged paint, old cracks and dull lobbies. Not much to see. Finally, people were starting to pile up, by twos, threes, fours. It was 7am. While checking her shoes, someone passed by her with a great whiff of fragrance. She looked up and saw Juanito. Their eyes met; but Juanito looked away immediately. Isabelle's eyes looked the other way too. Her heart raced and she was feeling kind of queasy. Juanito passed by her. His eyes met hers. She flushed, she didn't notice Daniel was calling her. Isabelle, come on! Come inside!. Isabelle grabbed her notebook and swiftly went down. Their class was going to practice for the upcoming cascabeleo, the annual sing and dance festivity. Isabelle wasn't that of a dancer nor a singer; but their class was short of people so they grabbed everyone to present. Usually, Isabelle would play the escritura but they used the guitarra this time. So Isabelle had no choice but to dance and sing like the rest of them. The first line was "Cami gu Elite Por Pabor". She analyzed it and saw a sign. Cami gu Elite Por Pabor. What did that mean? She thought to herself. Was Miguel, her mystery chariot guy, the one? She scanned for other clues. Then she saw it, the last line, HiaJ uan itoko. This was getting confusing. Miguel or Juanito. It always ended like this. Even when reading between the lines. This was getting irritating and annoying. Isabelle told herslef, "Just choose"; but it wasn't that easy. It isn't like choosing between studying or not, walking or riding, this or that. No, It was far from that. It was a decision not by the mind, but of the heart. A choice of the heart.

Chapter 12 - Wave
It was break time, Isabelle and Maria sat on a stair where they usually ate. Maria grabbed a bread stick and started chewing. Isabelle was not in the mood to eat; though she had so many munchies in her bag prepared by her mother. They were talking about the upcoming test on geometry; then they came across with "Regordete" he was a chubby guy in school. Isabelle always admired him, not like the sort of admiration for Miguel, but because he was so cute. Maria and Isabelle talked about his cuteness, chubbiness, how they liked to eat him all up and squeeze his tiny little cheeks. They were laughing and taught what if Regordete passed by the staircase. He was so fat to even last one stair; and even if he did, he might roll over on the second stair. They giggled at the thought. They imagined it very clearly and Maria said, "What if it did happen? What would you say to him?" Isabelle snorted and said, "I'll say goodbye!" with the wave of her hands. Suddenly, Juanito appeared from the bottom staircase. They didn't even notice him climbing up. Juanito saw the hand of Isabelle and quickly looked away. Isabelle flushed and laid her hand back down. That was sorta embarrassing , she thought to herself. Maria just laughed and started to pick - on Isabelle. "I waved at him, Juanito", Isabelle said to herself. She kinda got frustrated too, what is he thinking right now? he doesn't actually think I said goodbye to him? I'm not an obsessed fan nor a stalker Who does he think he is?. Maria gave a big laugh and said "It wasn't that bad, maybe you should have just continued waving, maybe he would've waved back". Isabelle fummed down the staircase and into the classroom and at the same time, the bell rang. Great.

Chapter 13 - Sense
The sun rose up with a smile on its face, birds were singing happy tunes and the wind was swaying pleasantly. Isabelle got ready for school with her daily routine. She combed her hair and felt different. She had a hunch on her heart. Isabelle tied her hair and got out of the house to wait for the chariot, to wait for Miguel. She was still feeling that weird sensation until the chariot came. She came in and sat on the very first seat her eyes had set upon. Isabelle looked around to find Miguel then her heart froze; Miguel was wearing a black shirt, white shoes and what struck Isabelle the most was his head. He was bald. "What an egg head", Isabelle said to herself. She tried not to laugh, they once maid a mosaic made of egg shells and it reminded her of him. She was feeling insane, for now on, she loved eggs. Isabelle looked up and caught Miguel looking at her. He scratched his blunt head and turned. Isabelle, though seeing it in her own eyes, couldn't believe Miguel was hairless. This time she can see Miguel's features clearly. Isabelle noticed that Miguel was not so handsome, he was plain; but that's what Isa loved about him. He was attractive, a girl could fall in his arms with just a simple smile.

Chapter 14 - Jump!
Isabelle sat on the very first step of the staircase, Maria went inside to get something in their classroom. She waited while fixing her things; then suddenly, she smelt a strong scent. Isabelle looked up and saw Juanito wearing a brown fury coat. He went down swiftly and Isabelle admired it. She looked down quickly, Miguel Miguel Miguel, she said to herself. Isabelle wanted only to think about her mystery guy, her now bald guy. He was what she wanted. But Isabelle couldn't help it, she gazed up and saw him again. He was on his way down the second set of staircase, he saw him jump then Isabelle heard a thud! then another. That wasn't right. Usually, when you jump off a step, there would only be one sound; but what Juanito made was two. That would mean he slipped and just regained his balance. Isabelle smiled to herself, this was the second time.
It was time to go home. Isabelle grabbed her things and said goodbye. She walked to the gate and saw Juanito near. She bowed down and just acted normal while passing by him. Her chauffeur had not arrived yet, she decided to do some eavesdropping. Isabelle leaned closer to where Juanito was without being noticed. He was talking to his friend. "So how are you guys?", his friend asked. "I don't know we just keep on fighting". "Oh to bad". Then she heard a loud whistle, Isabelle moved quickly and rode the chariot. "We just keep on fighting", this line was stuck with Isabelle. What did that mean? Who was he talking about? Isabelle wanted to know. She wanted to ask; but she knew that could never happen.

."Whats meant to be will always find a way."
Chapter 15 Stare
Isabelle rode the chariot with haste. Her hair was a mess, she didn't get to powder her face and her things were everywhere. She just sat on the first seat that was available. Her eyes wondered around for Miguel. Her heart went wild, Where is he? She looked everywhere; but all she could see were the same faces. Not the face of her beloved Miguel. She then felt her seat mate moving closer to her. Who is this guy? She titled her head and regretted it. Miguel was sitting right next to Isabelle. She gazed upon the opposite direction, no, not this time. She was a complete mess, Isabelle wasn't prepared. Miguel kept going closer to Isabelle; and she retorted with moving to the right. People were starting to stare, she looked down and was getting kinda embarrassed. She then noticed a girl, a 5th grader, eying at her with penetrating eyes, like she was creeping into Isabelle's soul, piercing through her heart, as if she was jealous. Jealous. Of Miguel? No way, Isabelle thought. Was this young child envious of Miguel's closeness with me? Does she like him too? Now, what was her name again?, all these ran through Isabelle's head. She just threw away the thought, Would a 5th grader stand a chance with a high school junior like me? A sabio even. Isabelle looked at Miguel and their eyes met. Their gaze locked for a few seconds. Her heart sped even more like it was about to escape and explode. It all happened for a few minutes but Isabelle felt it happened for hours.

."Don't screw up the best thing that ever happened to you just because you're a little unsure about who you are.."
Chapter 16 - Menace
She descended down the chariot with a smile on her face. She felt as though it was a long ride. Isabelle didn't care if her hair was chaos or if the wind were blowing her skirt. All she thought about was Miguel, that instant. It was like friction, like a magnet. The way their eyes met was magical. The 5th grader was nothing, a speck of dust. She was no problem, not even a menace. Miguel doesn't like her right? . Isabelle wondered what happens in the chariot whenever she's not around. Before and after she rides. Does the 5th grader and Miguel have eye to eye contact too? Are they close? Do they even know each other? Isabelle shivered at the thought, a 5th grader new something about Miguel; but Isabelle doesn't even have a clue what his name was. No, it couldn't possibly be. What Miguel and I have is special. No one can neither replace nor destroy that. We have static between us. Chemistry She silently said goodbye and hoped for the best. That little girl would not interfere. Little. She was young, no idea in life. Miguel was a high school student, like Isabelle. Surely Miguel was mature. But Of course, Isabelle had no idea what year Miguel was in. She crossed her fingers hopping he was a junior too, a straight one at that. She came in the classroom and sat on her seat. This was going to be along day. Isabelle kept on thinking. She planned her next move. A plan to get closer with Miguel and eliminate the competition.

Chapter 17 - Dirt
It was nature week. Students belonging to the Sabio had to have a tree planting activity. They packed their bags and hiked to the mountains. The road was muddy and slippery; it was worth the long journey though. The spot was beautiful. Trees and flowers were everywhere. Birds were chirping, fresh air was breezing and the sweet smell of pine cones. They put down their bags and started to look for a spot to plant. The boys were in charge of digging while the girls lodged the baby plants to the spot. Isabelle looked around, she then spotted Juanito. He was digging like an amateur. Is this his first time to use a shovel? Juanito was taking a long time shoveling and it was like he was really hard - up. Isabelle couldn't help but smile. She finally found a spot near a marvelous flower. Her classmate, Natalia was at her left. Natalia approached her and asked if they wanted to be partners. Sure was all Isabelle could say. She got her shovel and started to dig. Then suddenly, she heard a voice. A man's voice. A tone she would recognize anywhere. Need any help? Juanito was standing next to her; but his back was facing Isabelle. He was talking to Natalia. They were friends. Why does everything have to connect with him? Natalia smiled and pointed to Isabelle. I think she needs it. Isabelle flushed. The soil she dug was only 1cm deep; Natalia's was ready for plotting. Juanito smiled and grabbed Isabelle's shovel from her hand. Her hear sped like crazy. She felt like fainting, if only the floor was not so dirty. She day dreamed while Juanito was sweating from the dig. Suddenly, Miguel's face flashed. She felt ashamed. Who was she really for? Miguel or Juanito? Again, it came to this. She was fooling herself and playing with Miguel. She had to put a stop to this.

Chapter 18 - No more games
Another Tuesday Morning, another day of school, another time to see Miguel and Juanito; but this was not going to be those boring games. Isabelle swore to herself that this day would be different. This time, her roller coaster love would end. She would have to make her choice sooner or later, and it had to start now. She had to find out which guy her heart calls out to. This decision would be hard; but Isabelle was tired. Her heart was weary of getting hurt. She was getting dizzy of all the temptations. Just one, it isn't that hard? Right? Choosing between the quiet, mysterious guy in the chariot who looks at her with passion, and the attractive, humorous schoolmate who was younger yet appealing to Isabelle. It was time to pick her Mr. Right. Who was it going to be? This day will be start of her experiment. Day one of the series of test she would perform in order to choose wisely. Not anymore the daily routine. She kept her pen and paper in her pocket, just in case. Isabelle walked out the gate and waited for the chariot. She could hear the strides of the horse as it was approaching. Her heart was racing with it, as the chariot came closer and closer. You can do this. The chariot was right in front of her, she took a deep breath and climbed on the chariot. Isabelle sat next to Miguel purposely and with a flushed face, she opened her mouth and said a mere "Hello"..

."Love reminds you that nothing else matters".
Chapter 19 Experiment 1
Miguel looked at Isabelle with speculating eyes. He wondered for a moment, Did Isabelle just talk to me? At first, Isabelle and Miguel's eyes were locked; then Miguel flushed and turned away. This could not be happening Miguel thought to himself. Why don't you talk to me?!, Isabelle was complaining in her head. She was determined to make her choice, to accomplish this experiment; but she needed Miguel's cooperation. This was going to be hard. Isabelle didn't know where she got her strength to speak to Miguel. Maybe it was her willpower, her heart. A driven force of love to finally speak to him. Still, it upset Isabelle the fact that Miguel was uninterested. Until now, he is looking at the opposite direction, stable. He wasn't even looking at her. Isabelle then looked at the direction Miguel was facing, and her eyes grew wide. He was looking at that little 5th grader; and she was flirting back. What's happening here?, she thought to herself. Are they really looking at each other? Isabelle gave up all hopes of talking to Miguel when she realized they stopped at The Academy. She walked out with heavy feet and noticed Miguel and the 5th grader's eyes gazing upon her. She smiled with delight; but when the chariot left, she felt a stung in her heart. What's going to happen in the chariot? Is Miguel and the 5th grader talking? So that little brat was a threat after all, she thought. Her spirit was down and started to think about what was next. Experiment no.2 : Operation Juanito.

."Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition.".
Chapter 20 Questions
Well, experiment 1 didn't turn out as Isabelle thought it would be. Was this a sign? She entered their classroom, it was so lonely. No one was around yet, she felt more down. With her pen and paper she wrote,
Experiment 1: Talk to Miguel
Pros: I got to talk to the man of my dreams (something I have been wishing for)
Cons: He just stared and looked at that little 5th grader brat!
Result: a definite FAILURE.
Isabelle sighed and closed her notebook. First part of her test and she's getting bad results. Is it really worth it to leave the other, to disappoint the man who also cares for her? She thought of it for a while; the question is, who was the person who loves her? and whose the person who cares? Miguel's results were devastating. She wondered if he deserved her love. Or was Juanito the right person? She hasn't even taken experiment 2 and yet Isabelle assumed Juanito was going to pass his. How could Miguel look at that 5th grader? Why were they staring at each other? Were they? How bout Juanito? She never knew who was this girl. Did she even had a chance at all to any of this guys? Isabelle was pretty sure she wasn't the one chasing after them, there wasn't any chasing. It was simple romance. A dizzy ride at that. Her mind was full of questions. Questions that needed answers. Questions filled with confusion. Questions that were about to be answered. It was only a matter of time. She was determined. The series of test would now continue. She wiped her last tear and smiled.

Chapter 21 - Experiment 2
It was break time, and Isabelle went out on her own. Nobody knew she was doing her experiments. She was being secretive. Maria wanted to know what she was doing, why was she was acting like this; but Isabelle refused. She sat on the stairs and waited. She wasn't sure why was she waiting though. Should she continue this experiment? She had to. Suddenly, Isabelle saw him; wearing another one of his branded jackets. She got up and took a deep breath. This was becoming a habit of hers. With her books in place she climbed the staircase and purposely tripped. Her books scattered on the floor. She flushed and sat to get her books. Her head faced down, hoping Juanito would help her. There was only one book left and still no Juanito. She sighed and given up hope, Isabelle started for that last book; but another person beat her to it. Isabelle looked up and saw Juanito holding her book. She got up and said, "thank you". Juanito smiled and gave it to her. She was astounded. Experiment 2 was a complete success; though it wasn't what she expected. Juanito was suppose to help her get at least all of her books. She was holding 6 books and out of that 6, Juanito got one. Only one. What kind of gentleman was that? She thought. But at least this one cooperated; Miguel didn't even flinch. She grabbed her lunch and got out of the classroom alone.

."For you see, each day I love you more Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow."
Chapter 22 - Disappear
Her decision was becoming more and more clear. Isabelle can almost see her final choice. Their class was at the Constante building for P.E. They were warming up when Isabelle saw someone pass by. She was attracted by his mesmerizing jacket; she looked up and away immediately. It was her former crush, Pescado. Former, Isabelle thought. She didn't have any feelings for Pescado anymore; or does she? Maybe just a little; but she had more love for Miguel and Juanito. Isabelle wondered if her love for Miguel would fade away too. If one morning, she would realize that she didn't like Juanito anymore. Her heart crushed. "No, that would never happen", she thought. Isabelle is mature now, she knows what's real from what's not. Her daydreaming was interrupted by the sound of a whistle. Mr. Pasciano called Isabelle with an irritated voice. All eyes were at Isabelle, she guessed that she was being called for a long time. Her hands were shaking as she grabbed the ball. She was in position to start the game.
Isabelle climbed the chariot without haste. This time, she really wanted to talk to Miguel. Once she was at the door, her eyes searched for him. She flushed and her heart rolled down when she Isabelle noticed Miguel wasn't in sight. She sat at the empty seat her eyes set upon. She searched once again, thinking her eyes were just blurred back then; but no bald guy was seating in the chariot. "Where is he?" Isabelle asked herself, "Maybe the coach just went straight to my house, we're gonna pass by him soon". She looked out the window and saw that they were exiting their village. It can't be. Miguel never missed a day. Isabelle looked down and wasn't in the mood for school. Sadly, they had a test coming up so of course she had to be present. She couldn't help but blame herself and the stupid experiment. "Was he so conscious that what I did made him think I'm a flirt?", Isabelle was debating in her head. She felt so stupid. This proves that Miguel is cognizant kind of guy which Isabelle loves. She likes a guy who's secretive and yet gullible. Isabelle wanted him more. The chariot came to a stop and Isabelle climbed down hurriedly, wishing this day would end so she would see Miguel (hopefully) tomorrow.

Chapter 23 - Butterflies
There was a gathering at the open space. Isabelle grabbed a seat next to Maria. They waited patiently for the program to start. They we're joking and kidding around. Isabelle had a big smile on her face; she had forgotten the absence of Miguel. Her head turned around, still with that sparkling smile, then Juanito passed by. She wasn't sure; but Isabelle saw Juanito wink at her or nod at her direction. She was caught aback. She had butterflies in her stomach. Was Isabelle right? Did Juanito look at her? Did Juanito even know her? She was filled with questions. What was that about? The people around were squealing and poking Isabelle. All of which knew Isabelle's liking for Juanito. She bit her lip and still couldn't speak. Suddenly, the principal announced something on stage. Isabelle didn't hear a word, she was too messed up. So what is Isabelle more concentrated on? Miguel's Absence or Juanito's Identification?
The program started and Isabelle was sort of composed now. Her eyes set on stage. There were performers dancing for the 'annual culminating program'. The crowd went wild. This was a treat. Maybe this would take her mind off her worries. She looked at the side of the stage and saw the section of Juanito lined up. Her heart sped, "He couldn't be", she whispered. Her eyes searched and saw Juanito in-line with paint on his face. He was going to perform. He had a smile on his face and Isabelle looked at his cute dimple for awhile. She saw his section practicing their dance before and she laughed. Now, she can't believe Juanito was going to endure the humiliation.

Chapter 24 - Surprise
Every sabio was on their way toward the Constante building. Time for academics again; but they still couldn't take their mind off the morning activity. You could hear people buzzing and discussing. Isabelle can still remember every step of Juanito, she couldn't stop smiling. At least it took her mind off Miguel's absence. The day went by quickly. Nothing much happened. Isabelle then realized, it was Friday and she wouldn't get to see Miguel for 2 days; she hasn't even seen Juanito other than this morning. Her heart skipped a beat. It was dismissal time, she was hoping to see Juanito, maybe just a little glimpse; but her chariot together with her parents arrived. They were to go to Mazo, the famous sustentivo (mall in spanish). She hurried down with a frown in her face. She rode the chariot and sat with her shoulders slumped.
The chariot stopped at the front entrance of Mazo. Isabelle's father climbed down with poise, followed by her graceful mother then lastly, she with her shoulders unbalanced. She was not in the mood for shopping. The gates opened and the guards greeted them with delight. They entered the first shop and searched for their daily needs. Isabelle together with her mother passed by a lot of stalls; then her heart sped a thousand. Miguel was walking towards her, (or towards the bag of chips), his eyes locked on hers. Isabelle instantly looked down with her fingers crossed. She was walking with her mother; she smelt the warm aroma of Miguel pass by. She let out a sigh and her face was red as a ripe apple. She didn't dare look back, afraid to look straight at Miguel's eyes, especially with her mother around. She might faint.

"When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free."
Chapter 25 - Imagination
Isabelle's hands were shaking and her face was red as a ripe apple. She wanted to run. To get a hold of Miguel. She wanted to hug him and show her affection. If only... If only she could. If only she had the guts. If only her mother was not standing right beside her in that instant. They rode the chariot once again, back to home. Isabelle was hoping that they might see Miguel's own chariot. That maybe she would see him one more time. Her heart won't stop beating recklessly. At least her face wasn't flushing anymore. They entered their village but still no sign of that egg - head. She sighed and slouched on her chair. They were approaching Miguel's home and she couldn't help but stare at the simple cottage. Then suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a red vest which she remembered Miguel wear last Tuesday. Her eyes widened hoping she could know for sure that that was Miguel. But the chariot sped up and she just saw the scenery blur. Disappointed, she looked down and started to day dream. Picturing Miguel and her dancing in the moonlight. The winter breeze swaying her soft brown hair. Her arms entwined against his. They stared at each other and were about to kiss when suddenly someone called her name. "Isabelle! Isabelle!", she turned and saw Juanito hurdling towards them. He bumped into her and knocked her down. Then Isabelle realized she had fallen asleep and bumped her head on the chariot's door. Her mother was smirking. Her mother had heard her dream. Sometimes, Isabelle would blurt out her dreams. Saying the lines she's been saying during her dream. It was humiliating, and usually it would happen if she deeply felt something. "It's ok to have an inspiration", her mother said, "just as long it's nothing serious". Isabelle smiled and nodded. Of course this was nothing serious right? Just a crush, an inspiration.

The greatest science in the world; in heaven and on earth; is love
Chapter 26 - Stare
As the days went by, everyday was like a daily routine. Maybe just a little spark whenever Miguel looks slash stares at Isabelle or Juanito passes by. There wasn't that much excitement during the past months. Christmas was coming near. Isabelle was thinking of giving Miguel a gift. She sighed, they weren't exactly close, they didn't even know each other's names. Why would she give him anything? Plus exams are by next week she mustn't be distracted.

"In dreams and in love there are no impossibilities."
Chapter 27 - Revelation
Her heart was jumping with excitement. 'Would he be early today? Was he wearing that favorite jacket of his? Did he get a haircut?' Each question whirled in Isabelle's head as she approached the school premises. Everything was the same: the smell of the chalkboards, the strict old security guard standing near the gate and the tape - filled ceilings of every classroom. And as always, Isabelle was first to arrive at the gate. She strode down the hallway and got in the petite classroom. She waited for time to pass. People were coming in the classroom, saying 'Hi's' and 'Hello's". Isabelle politely answered back though she was hesitant to see that one person she was waiting for the whole morning. She didn't have anyone to talk to, so Isabelle decided to just read her journal. Her eyes were giving in when she caught sight of someone at the door. Jasmine, her classmate, was talking to Juanito. She didn't react but her heart was racing like a time bomb ready to explode. She wanted to walk pass them, after all it was a doorway; but she kept still, trying not to attract attention. Suddenly, Maria walked in, swift and smiling. "Guess what?", Maria said with a tone. "What is it?", Isabelle asked, confused.
"I just talked with Jenna, you know Juanito's friend?"
"And?"
"Umm... Do you really want to know?"
"yes!"
"She told me that.."
"that?"
"Juanito knows you""
"Oh.."
"That's not all, he.. knows you like him"
Isabelle was speechless; but she sort of new it. It was kinda obvious with her classmates and all. She glanced at the door and Juanito was nowhere to be found. She smiled and stood up, there was nothing to worry about.

"When you are in Love you can't fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams."
Chapter 28 - Hair
The wind blew and it was like viewing from window blinds. Isabelle hurried towards the school's canteen while hastily wiping strands of hair from her face. She bumped into something or someone but too caught up to care. Once that was done, Isabelle turned her head and reflexively smacked her forehead. She bumped into Juanito, that was for sure. He was the only person at the entrance. Isabelle felt sorry for herself and Juanito. She should have said sorry to the poor guy rather than swiping away hair. Stupid hair. She headed towards their classroom and opened the door like always. The smell of floor wax, chalk dust and sweat instantly arouse. She led out a deep breath and came in. Isabelle plopped down her stuff and headed for the door. With nothing to do she just wanted fresh air. She decided to sit on one of the stairs. Seeing empty corridors, Isabelle stretched her aching feet when Juanito passed by and tripped. Luckily he caught his balance with the rails. Strike two. Isabelle was caught by surprise. She stood up and bowed her head frantically then ran from Juanito. It was psychotic. Juanito was taken aback too but after Isabelle's stunt, he couldn't help but grin. He raced up the stairs and didn't bother to chase after Isabelle.

".if i have to choose between loving you, and breathing. I would use my last breath to say I LOVE YOU. "
Chapter 29 - Alone
Isabelle was out of breath. She was at the canteen. Instant flashbacks came to her as to why she was standing at the empty room. That was humiliating. Embarrassing. Her heart was beating fast not just from the running. She instantly felt nothing. She wanted to sit down but her feet didn't move. Why did she ran off? Why did her stupid hair have to impair her vision. It was cold enough that she was all alone. No one to comfort her, no one to ask for advice. She can't exactly ask for help from a bunch of cafeteria ladies. Right? The bell rang, it was time to head up. Isabelle sighed and started upstairs. Everything went by like lightning. She didn't feel a thing. There we're people passing by, laughing and smiling as they headed for the ceremony; but Isabelle didn't hear them nor did she recognized their existence. She was lonely and alone. Maria forced a smile on her, but to no avail. The day passed by with sadness, like a stormy cloud was above her. One single moment made her feel like she was in hell. The chariot was once again in front of her. Isabelle slouched on the comfy seat. Tears were starting to build up; but she didn't give in, no guy was worth it. She stared straight into the road and looked at the beautiful sky. They were approaching the gate and sitting on a bench was a guy whom Isabelle knew could never break her heart.

Chapter 30 - Dazed
Isabelle couldn't believe her eyes. She blinked twice and he was still sitting there. A bit sleepy but still breathtaking, Miguel was staring right at her. Her heart was beating like a railroad train with broken breaks. Isabelle couldn't take her eyes off Miguel. It's like their eyes were locked if not glued to each other. She wanted to scream her lungs out, get out of the chariot and run to him with open arms; but with her parents sitting right in front of her that was completely impossible. Isabelle was trapped in his eyes, she couldn't hear anything except for her 'beating faster' heart. It was like there was no one around them, just her and Miguel dazed by each other's presence. They were approaching the entrance but she wanted to stay there. The chariot was moving quite a pace. For the whole duration of arriving near the village gate, Miguel and Isabelle somehow gained a spark between them. Isabelle couldn't stop looking at him neither could Miguel back. They were in a different place, a different universe and a different time. Their heart beat as one. And as the chariot surpassed the gate, Miguel was out of sight. Isabelle was still dazed and her heart was still beating like crazy. She was completely red and her hands were shaking. Was that a sign? Did Miguel actually have feelings for her? Or was Isabelle on her way to an unending dream opposite of reality.

". If God is the DJ, then Life is the dance floor; Love is the rhythm, and You are the music. ."
Chapter 31 - Insomnia
It was in the middle of the night and Isabelle was still thinking of that encounter with Miguel. She couldn’t sleep. All she thought about was Miguel’s eyes and the spark that went between them. She forgot all about Juanito and the humiliation he had witnessed, it all faded away because of Miguel. It was always Miguel who made her feel great about herself when Juanito made it worse. It was he who makes her feel the prettiest girl in the world when his eyes look at only hers. It was him who makes her smile even at the slightest movement. And it was him who gives her hope that possibly, she has a chance at love. Isabelle wasn’t sure if Miguel was feeling something for her, if this was all an illusion of hers. But after that incident at the village gate, there was chance. They didn’t know each other’s name; they didn’t know anything about each other. It would be a needle in a haystack moment if they were to be together. It wasn’t near possible nor close to impossible. Everything will depend on fate, the destiny that would hold them together. She didn’t know what to expect, what to do. All she knew was, she would see Miguel tomorrow and let whatever happen flow as is. And with that, Isabelle smiled happily to sleep.

".My night has become a sunny dawn because of you."
Chapter 32 - Mom
Isabelle got up with a smile on her face. She hummed graciously while descending the stairs. Her mother looked up with a curious expression on her face.
"You look happy."
"It's such a wonderful day, Don't you think?"
"Yeah, sure; but there's something else"
Isabelle didn't mind her mother's statement, she strode swiftly to eat her breakfast. She woke up a little bit earlier than usual and her movements were happier. Her mind was still on last night's encounter with Miguel. His brown, attractive eyes. Her heart melted and beat faster. Her lips turned into a smile. Her mother eyed her suspiciously.
"So how's school?"
"Great! A little bit loaded with assignments, but other than that. It's Wonderful!"
"School, wonderful? You're acting strange."
"The weather maybe?". Isabelle tried to make her voice sound even. Her mother didn't buy it.
"Hung - out with some boy lately?"
"No. Not really. Nobody in school really attracts me" Except maybe one she thought.
"Sure?"
"I'm sure. Gotta go take a bath now."
Isabelle strode with the same gracious steps, with a little edginess now. Her mother gave her a curios smile; but waved it away.

".A baby is born with a need to be loved - and never outgrows it."
Chapter 33 - Blank
"Your time starts now."
It was English period and the Sabio had to write an essay. It was time pressured and freestyle writing which made it a little harder. Isabelle was blank. She didn't even know the first letter to her sentence. Random thoughts came to her head. Rainbows, clothes, pink toenails. That felt kinda gay. She was lost and her paper was still empty. Time was running out. Her mind was useless now. She decided to ditch a draft and started to write her name on a clean piece of paper. Still nothing. She was gonna lose it. Isabelle wanted to ask someone or anyone to help her. At least give her an idea. She was hopeless, she looked around the room for any kind of inspiration. Her eyes were glued on to a movie poster. It was about a robot gaining true love. It seemed unrealistic but as the saying goes nothing's impossible with the power of love. Even robots get hit. Unlike half a minute ago, her mind of useless and unconnected ideas flashed into mixed and poignant dreams. Her head was filled with inspiration and emotion. She started to write fast and fierce. "5 mins", her teacher yelled. Isabelle panicked but she was halfway through. "Pencils up, pass your paper". She exhaled, just in time. Her hands were shaking but she didn't care. Her paper was done, her mind was back in shape and the essay was about how Miguel stole her heart. That made her smile, an essay about Miguel. Her inspiration was Miguel.

".To be at peace with your soul you must bang your head until the fruits of fulfillment show the love."
Chapter 34 - Danger
The bell rang signaling the end of classes. Isabelle walked hastily along the corridors, like someone was waiting for her. She held her books and her bag at her side. She was walking at such a fast pace that people practically was giving her way. She saw her ride waiting outside the campus then she ran faster. Isabelle didn't know why she was walking so fast, her mind just told her to do so. Then in flash, a guy riding a skateboard bumped, most properly crashed, right in to her. Books came flying from every direction and Isabelle's bag flattened on the floor. She became furious. Her face turned red and she faced the guy who was busy checking his skateboard for cracks. The guy looked at her and started to open his mouth but before he could speak a syllable, Isabelle grabbed a book and slammed it on his foot. A scorching scream came from the guy, it was a 600 - page book after - all. "Do you have eyes?", Isabelle said with a slight growl. The guy was massaging his foot, "What?".
"A girl was walking and you just bumped right into her with your stupid contraption?!"
"What girl?"
"I can't believe you! Take off that stupid mask and show your face."
"Yeah, I gotta go. See ya!"
"Excuse me?"
The guy strode off in his skate board and shouted, "Sorry!". Isabelle was taken aback. She was so mad at that guy. Her books were still scattered on the floor, she slammed her bag on the floor and started picking them up. She was about to pick up the last book when a guy stopped right in front of her and swooped it from the floor. She looked up and the guy was handing the book to her. He smiled and ran towards the stairs. Isabelle still stood there her mind still absorbing what had happened.

"When the eyes meet and hold strongly they are bound to meet again.."
Chapter 35 - Fading, Blossoming
Isabelle rode the chariot with a confused mind. She wasn't speaking to her parents, her mind was wandering off to a rewind of the guy who literally swept her off her feet and another guy who helped her. She was feeling something else. She thought it was weird for the second guy to show up and just randomly pick her book then ran off to the same staircase where the guy in the skateboard went. Then she thought, what if they were the same guy? She shook it off the second she thought of it, "there was no way a disrespectful man can suddenly go back and become a gentleman". And the weirder part was Isabelle couldn't seem to remember both of the guys faces. Well, the first guy is an exception since he was wearing a mask. Isabelle was staring outside the window her mind still rewinding the event over and over. She couldn't possibly be feeling anything for the guy/ guys. She had enough to handle. Her eyes were staring past the glass window then suddenly, her eyes caught a glimpse of a guy standing near the gate. She was startled. She blinked a few times but he was still there. But unlike the last time Isabelle saw him, she only felt a little spark. Miguel. Her reaction was like a mosquito's bite compared to the electric shock before. She didn't know what was happening. Isabelle even tried to question her heart. "Beat fast! like a railroad train remember?" But still, nothing. Her heart beat at a mild pace, faster but not as fast as the past. What was happening to her? Was Miguel replaced? Forgotten? Maybe there's a new competition.

". "love can be blissful, love can be sad but right at the end, love will always be everlasting giving you satisfaction like no other"."
Chapter 36 - New Guy
It was the month of January and another day of school. Isabelle placed her things on her desk and sat quietly, her mind wandering off. She remembered the days when her mind was at peace: no Miguel, no Juanito just going to school to study. She thought about the past months: of being love struck and heartbroken. Her mind was swirling and her heart, pounding fiercely then right at that moment someone loudly dropped their things on the seat next to her. Isabelle didn't mind it she thought it was Maria getting her attention again. But a hand was extended towards her, it was a guy's hand. She looked up and saw the guy who helped her carry her books, he was smiling directly at her.
"Hi. I'm Marc", said the new guy which such confidence. Isabelle was surprised her eyes surely expressed it. "Umm... I'm Isabelle. Nice to meet you, You're new here, aren't you?". Isabelle shook Marc's hand with anxiety. "Yes, just transferred from New York. My family's a little adventurous you see", he said with a smile that won over Isabelle. "Oh. well then welcome. And, uh, thanks for yesterday", Isabelle, still finding words, blurted out.
"Cool you still remember. That was nothing. Hey no offense, but your school's kinda ancient. Do you mind showing me around one time? It's gonna take time for me to get used here."
"Sure. Anytime"
Marc and Isabelle looked at each other with quite a long gaze and smiled. The bell rang but Isabelle's heartbeat was louder than any sound. Marc offered his hand and helped Isabelle from her seat. They left the classroom together smiling the whole time that left her classmates, even Maria, wondering.

".For it is love that can withstand all things, even the most difficult problem on Earth."
Chapter 37 - Concentration
There was the sound of the chalk writing feverishly on the blackboard while a loud and stern voice filled the room but Isabelle could only hear a glimpse of these. Her mind was going places. And it was only the first period: Algebra.
Marc was seated next to her and jotting down notes like there's no tomorrow. Isabelle slightly turned her head and right at that instant their eyes met. It was magical and enchanting, a feeling Isabelle had never felt for in a lifetime. Her heart did not beat faster than a railroad train but it melted like an iceberg hit by global warming. Their gaze was long as if they were the only two in the room. Their hearts beating in the same rhythm, harmony and melody. Everything was a blur and all they could look at, think of and feel were each other's presence. But the moment crashed when their teacher shouted loudly asking for an answer to the question they never heard. The room was back to being filled with eager teenagers trapped in an academic classroom with a teacher eager to burst.
"Ms. Turell would you mind telling the class the answer", the teacher said with such fearful voice. Isabelle was startled and instantly blushed. She had no idea what topic they were on. Marc coughed and Isabelle looked down with Marc pointing to a portion on his notebook. Isabelle read it fast, her hands shaking, she had to trust Marc. She cleared her throat. "It's 3 pi over 4", she said with such confidence. Her teacher smiled and bowed, "correct".
Isabelle was able to mouth a "thank you" to Marc and seated quietly on her seat. She couldn't concentrate on the subject matter anymore. Then the bell rang.

".Life's too short to think, better act now when it comes to love."
Chapter 38 - Rejection
School was over and the students were off to their different rides, some fetched others in groups towards their service. Isabelle grabbed her things and as she was about to leave, a hand grabbed her arm.
"Hey. How 'bout I take you home", Marc pleadingly asked Isabelle. His eyes seeped through hers.
"Um. I'm Sorry. My parents fetch me."
"Oh well then at least let me walk you out from school."
Isabelle wondered. "Why?"
"Oh I don't know. I just want to spend time with you".
Isabelle flushed and looked away.
"No. I'm sorry." Isabelle ran off her heart beating faster than ever.
Marc was left there his hands shaking. He never felt like that before maybe it was the feeling of rejection that took him. He got this things with such depression while Isabelle hurriedly left the campus.
This isn't right, Isabelle thought. She mustn't fall for him she had enough to deal with, having Miguel and Juanito. There was too much distraction. Too much for her heart to handle. Too much for her mind to think about. She was almost teary eyed with all these coming to her. Everything was a mistake: her talking to Marc, gazing upon him at Algebra class and agreeing to show him around one time. It was not right to let him hope because she does not want him to. Isabelle knew what to do. It would be hard but it must be done. She must reject Marc and eject him from her life.

".Friends are the roots of what is to be called the fruits that is love."
Chapter 39 - Wake - up
The carriage was right in front of Isabelle's door step. But for some reason she did not want to ride it, Isabelle stood there: motionless. She took a deep breath and opened the door to the carriage. Miguel was seated near the door, an empty seat was next to him. Isabelle looked down and took the seat. She felt the heartbeat: it was a feeling that can never be compared to what she felt when she was near Marc. It was highly above it. Miguel made the same move: he touched ever so lightly Isabelle's finger tips with his. Like he was tapping her, tapping her heart definitely. Isabelle was stoic but deep down her mind swirled with glee.
They arrived at the school proper and Isabelle walked down with a smile on her face. She definitely liked Miguel with all her heart; it wouldn't be ruined with a simple infatuation with Marc. She snapped back to the reality that she can't have other guys near her, invading her heart and confusing her mind. One man was enough .
"Juanito won't be coming to school anymore", a loud voice announced at Isabelle's earshot. She looked for the person who spoke and saw Olivia, a 3rd year student who was a classmate of Juanito.
"What? Why?", her friend asked.
"He's sick. Not sure what exactly it is though. Must be really serious."
Isabelle was shocked. Juanito won't be coming to school. She won't be able to see him again. She sighed and shook it off. That's one person on the list, she thought.

".Love will a find a way for it is THE way. "
Chapter 40 - Moving on
Marc was unusually quiet. They were seated for the whole day without talking to each other. Isabelle felt relieved. Space and time would pave the way to forget what she feels for Marc. It would simply be a crush, nothing more. It must end there.
Isabelle gathered her things but when she looked at the seat next to her, Marc was gone. She got out and saw him talking to a girl a little bit taller than him. But he was happy and his eyes met hers in such a magical way. Isabelle felt like her heart was pricked by a thousand needles. She was saddened with the view right in front of her. But Isabelle needed to swallow whatever she was feeling and accept that Marc was moving on. She needed it too. She needs to choose. She can't be stuck in the middle running of wherever fate takes her. She must make her own destiny, her own choices for her own future. It lies on her decisions, what she truly feels deep inside.
Maria and Costanza was by her side. "It's fine", Isabelle said. "He's a guy. He just got bored easily". Isabelle was stung but she felt fine. No matter what happens Miguel would stay in her heart.
She was about to exit the gate when Ms. Sophia called her attention. Ms. Sophia was the adviser of the school paper. Isabelle walked towards her curiously.
"Hi Isabelle. I expect you to be prepped up for the yearly press conference. Okay?", Ms. Sophia told Isabelle eagerly.
"What? You picked me? Why thank you Ms. Sophia! I promise, I won't let you down."
"I expect it from you then."
Isabelle smiled proudly. She has moved on from both Marc and Juanito, ready to face the realities that come her way.

".Nobody can hear their heartbeat they can only feel it."
Chapter 41 - Competition
There were pictures being taken, essays written and news broadcasting done all over the place - and it was only 7am. Everything was laid out in front of them: what to do, where to do it and how much time they would perform the given task. Isabelle was prepped up for the Press Conference. She entered the Photojournalism category. She held her camera tightly and started to take photographs. The competition did not start yet, they were still being oriented and trained. She was accompanied by her other schoolmates. All of them tensed and ready to defend their school.
Isabelle sat on an empty bench and opened her camera. She needed to place film in it. She carefully got the film but as she was about to insert it, the film slipped and rolled from her hands. It stopped as a boy picked it up.
"I'm guessing this is yours.", said he.
"Yes. Thank you.", Isabelle answered as she got it from his hand.
"I didn't tell you to take it. Did I? I'm Jase by the way. What's your name?", he said with a big grin.
"Isabelle. Now, give me that film. I need it very much right now.", Isabelle said with a little irritation to her voice.
"Haha. Okay. Sorry". Jase said still with the same smile.
Isabelle snatched it from his hand and placed it angrily in her camera. She got up from the bench and walked towards the room where the contest was to be held.
"Hey wait! I'm sorry. I just wanted to be friends. I'm part of the team anyways. Sorry." Jase said with sad eyes this time.
Isabelle was rushing then.
"Yeah sure. Just don't do it again. Good luck in your category!"
"Thanks! And don't worry. You'll be my inspiration the whole time I'd be writing my story." Jase said with the same smile that could mean trouble.

".Space makes time seem long and slow when you're far from me."
Chapter 42 - Pick - up
There were colorful flowers, attractive posters and picturesque sceneries. It was hard to choose what would be the subject of Isabelle's entry for the contest. She searched and looked carefully for the best shots. She got hold of her camera and started to click and take that first picture. She decided to go for the butterfly resting idly on a flower; but as she was about to take the shot, the butterfly flew leaving the flower seem ordinary. Isabelle shook her head and became frustrated. She needed to make a good impression. They were 20 participants and only 5 would be able to reach Regionals; she had to make it. "I would be happy with 5th place", Isabelle thought to herself. She searched again for a better subject. As she was walking, Isabelle saw Jase sitting on the staircase. He was directly lighted by the sunlight. It was dramatic and definitely eye - catching. Isabelle sighed, she had to. She grabbed her camera and took the shot. The picture won't be viewed 'till they would be printed so she prayed that it would look good. If it won't, she'll blame it on Jase. 4 shots to go, she got around the building and took shots of all kinds. It was exciting and nerve - wracking at the same time. She was doing what she loved but she was doing it for a cost. It was a life and death situation.
It was waiting time. The films were all passed to the board of judges for printing and evaluation. Isabelle was tensed, her hands were shaking and she could barely speak. Jase smiled and approached her. She started to poke Isabelle. She didn't mind him, her mind was wandering off. But Jase was all over the place, poking her arm and smiling in quite a weird way.
"Hey!", he said.
Isabelle looked at him with a little irritation again. "What?", with a fake smile.
"Isabelle. Hmm. Your name's kinda long. Can I just call you Isa? Better save this wonderful voice of mine."
"Yeah Sure. Whatever."
"Hey Isa!"
"What???"
"You may fall from the sky, you may fall from a tree, but the best way to fall... is in love with me", Jase said with a big grin.
Isabelle was shocked; but she noticed that some other people were making cheesy pick -up lines too. So to lessen the tension she was feeling, she decided to just ride with the conversation.
"Okay Jase. Well then. People call me Isabelle, but you can call me Tonight! Haha.", Isabelle said with a little exaggeration.
"I see where this is going. Game on. Ms. Isabelle, Do you have a map? Because I just keep getting lost in your eyes!"
And so the pick - up lines continued. The fear and anxiety of Isabelle was lessened. They laughed and smiled at each other for the whole afternoon. Making lines that seemed to cheesy even for them. They were talking like they were long - time friends.
"Time for the announcement of winners", said the emcee of the competition.

".Love has no meaning, no definition but it defines a relationship that can't be explained further."
Chapter 43 - Best Friend
The tension came back. Isabelle's heart was pounding, the announcements were to be made. The emcee was on stage and the students gathered to hear who would be moving on to the next level. The broadcasting category was first but unfortunately; The Academy got only 2nd place which meant that their team wouldn't be going to Regionals. The next category was News Writing, 1st place was given to Isabelle's school. They rejoiced. Other categories followed, each leading to them going on to Regionals. Photojournalism was up next and Isabelle's hands were shaking. Jase was at her back and gave her a pat.
The first placer was up, and it was Isabelle's seat-mate. She applauded him with a smile; after all, it was Maria's best friend. The 2nd placer was called next and Isabelle was losing hope. She sighed. 3 places left. The 3rd was announced and it wasn't her.
"Don't worry. You'll make it", he said with a wink.
The speaker held the envelope with due care. She spoke with such pride.
"And 4th place goes to, Isabelle Kate Turell"
Isabelle couldn't believe it. Her name was announced but she was caught in the moment. Jase pushed her slightly.
"Isa! Get up there and receive your award!", Jase said enthusiastically.
Isabelle got up from her seat slowly. She climbed up the staircase towards the stage, her hands shaking the whole time and her heart pounding faster than before.
"And in addition to being the 4th placer, Ms. Turell also won the 'Best Picture' award", the emcee said with joy.
The judges gave her numerous congratulations and shook her hand. She was pinned with a ribbon and the photograph which won 'Best Picture' was given to her in a frame. She looked at it and unexpectedly, it was the picture she took that made Jase the primary subject. It did make a good shot. The lighting was perfect and his expression fit the scene.
Jase laughed at the sight of his picture. Isabelle descended the stage and her teammates hugged her and they all exchanged congratulations. Jase approached her with a big smile.
"I didn't know you took my picture. Are you stalking me? haha.", Jase said jokingly.
Isabelle slapped his arm. "Hey in my defense, it was professionally done. You want it?"
"No, you can keep it. You'll need it as a reminder of me."
"I don't need it then."
"Oh yeah. 'Coz I'm always on your mind right? haha"
"Shut up. haha"
Their teammates were eying them with suspicion. Isabelle rolled her eyes. They left the venue to get something to eat. Jase was with Isabelle. They were telling each other stories and joking around. Isabelle didn't feel a spark like when she was around Miguel and so did Jase with her. It was a relationship that could only be defined as friendship. In the end, their label was of 'Best Friends'

".It's not the time spent with you, but your presence alone that makes me happy."
Chapter 44 - Forget
The sunbeams woke Isabelle up. She stretched and gave out a big yawn. It was a new day. The competition was over and it was back to school for the participants. Isabelle was also to ride the chariot once again. She got up from bed and made the daily morning routine. Her hair was clipped tidily in place.
The carriage arrived on time as always. She opened the door and searched for a place to sit. Her heart pounded fiercely again. In that instant she remembered everyday of the ride to school. The moments spent with Miguel. The time - stopping events they shared together before she got to school. There was an empty sit right next to him. Isabelle couldn't help but smile. She was overjoyed. Her feelings were once again revived. The feelings which were temporarily at pause during the competition, when Miguel wasn't on her mind. When it was all Jase. When all her teammates were teasing her. When they she and Jase had a love team. Their coach even joined in. They laughed and smiled at every moment whenever Jase would approach Isabelle. The competition wasn't all serious, it involved a lot of joking around and kids. Jase had his eyes on Isabelle the whole time and whenever their teammates would caught them together, the teasing ensued. But Miguel was never thought about by Isabelle. She had almost forgotten about him during the competition, it was all Jase. But seemingly, her heart beat fast unlike any other feeling. She didn't feel that way for Jase, that was sure.
Miguel looked up at Isabelle and smiled. She took the seat next to him and placed her bag on her lap. The carriage moved swiftly but Isabelle's heartbeat sounded faster. All that was forgotten came back in a flash.

".even a short smile can brighten one's dark day."
Chapter 45 - Wrong side of the road
Isabelle got down from the chariot still dozed. Her heart was definitely alive and her mind was still reminiscing the moments. She got to the classroom and opened her books. She decided to review, she had a lot of catching up to do. But the words were all blurred. Isabelle couldn't concentrate. Her hand rand through the chapters but she was still thinking of Miguel. It was weird though since they never have actually talked to each other. She thought about the last few days they would be spending time riding the chariot. The school year was about to end and she hasn't told him how she felt. and nor has he for that matter. Her vision started to blur. Her eyes were watering. She sat quietly near the door of their classroom. She needed to make a move or it would be too late.

".Hope. Just Hope and have Faith. "
Chapter 46 - Information
Isabelle, along with the rest of the team, headed to the program. They made themselves comfortable at the back seats. Miguel was at the front row and Isabelle couldn't help but stare at his direction. He was there. At Isabelle's school. Sitting just less than 5 feet away. She wanted to run, no leap to him. She wanted to hold him and talk to him forever. Isabelle wanted him all to herself. She wanted him, period. But it was only the start of the activity and there was nothing to do but listen to the long talk being given. She was getting bored and so was the rest of the students. They couldn't wait for the break.
At last the speaker announced that they could get snacks at the other side of the hall. Everyone stood up for the prayer. Isabelle's heart pounded. It was time. Their group was also in charge of handing out the food to the guests. Their group was the very first to stand and head to the tables. The visitors gathered around and started to file to a line. Isabelle could see Miguel lining up at the farther back. She sighed. This was going to take long. She thought of what to say. What to do. How to act. In less than 2 minutes she would be able to see him. Close and possibly even hold his hand. They were distributing the packs of food to each participant. But Isabelle's head was not focused on that duty. She gave each snack her eyes constantly searching for Miguel. He was getting closer and closer. If she had a rope she would have probably thrown it at him and pulled it like a cowboy. Her heart was still pounding like crazy. This wouldn't be like the ride in the chariot. This time would be different, Isabelle thought. She would talk to him and he would talk to her. They would have a great time and maybe, possibly, it would lead somewhere to friendship and in the end, a relationship. She winced at the thought. Finally, Miguel reached the table. He first got a cup and some juice from the first station. Then, they were face - to - face. He and Isabelle were just inches apart just like when they were seated beside each other in the chariot, only it would be different as Isabelle thought. They looked at each other, eyes sparkling as bright as the moon. Miguel smiled. Isabelle's heart just stopped then beat so fiercely she could hardly hear anyone in the room. And it was a pretty busy room.
"Hi", Isabelle said. Stuttering in the process. Their eyes still meeting. Isabelle waited for a response. Any response.

".Time can do wonders in a relationship."
Chapter 47 - Shock
Seconds passed quickly. Still no response. Isabelle felt the humiliation streaming in her. What if he wouldn't respond. What if he just passed by her. What if he didn't recognize her at all? Isabelle was about to turn her head away when an angel - like voice came to her ears.
"Hello", Miguel said with such innocence and a smile overcame his face.
Isabelle's heart beat faster than before. Her eyes were directly looking at Miguel. She couldn't move. Her lips more immobile. Her mind was going places. She couldn't think properly. Miguel was standing there. And he just talked to her. One word changed it all. One word made her heart pound and her mind swirl. It was breathtaking.
"Can I have that?", Miguel asked with his arms extended towards Isabelle's hand. She was still stuck in dreamland. Isabelle gave her hand.
"Umm. I was talking about the pack of food. If you don't mind. I'm a little hungry.", Miguel's smile had faded and he was looking annoyed.
Snap out of it, Isabelle's mind shouted at her. She was staring at Miguel. She hadn't said anything for nearly a minute. Miguel coughed, his food was still not given and the others at the back of the line was starting to get irritated. At that Isabelle awoke from her shock. She felt stupid. She gulped then gave the snack to Miguel with a little humiliation. She shook her head when Miguel went back to his seat. When, she thought, would they ever have a conversation together. She sighed, a frown building up.

".When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides."
Chapter 48 - Sudden
"Thank you for coming. Have a Pleasant Afternoon", the speaker said which ended the event.
"Yeah. It is so pleasant", Isabelle thought. She didn't say anything at all after that little encounter with Miguel. Not only because there wasn't anyone to talk to or any topic to talk about but because of the unbearable humiliation and sadness she felt with Miguel. She was suppose to have a conversation with him, a talk. Something. But it turned out to have an opposite result. What could Miguel be thinking right now? About her? About them? She sighed then slowly got up from her seat. Her group was gone now and she was the only one left at the back row. She made her way downstairs with no one to accompany her. She could have been Miguel at that time if she weren't so dumb during the break.
Isabelle was at the gate. Waiting for her parents to fetch her. She still carried the frown. People were exiting faster than they entered in the morning. There were even boxes being carried from the school. She constantly had to move from the gate to make way then she felt a bump behind her which made her tumble from the gate to the ground. Her knees were bent and her hands caught gravel. She became more annoyed. A box had hit here, hard. A guy held her up pleading and apologizing for what he had done but Isabelle couldn't here him. She was too angry. First Miguel now that. She was frustrated.
"Next Time. Will you Please watch your step? Ho-", Isabelle stopped mid - sentence. She saw the guy and was immediately at shock. She flushed.
"I'm very very sorry. I didn't see you.", Miguel said. His eyes made Isabelle melt.
"No. No. It's fine. I was in the way. It's my fault", Isabelle was about to faint.
"It was mine. You fell down. Do you have any wounds? Anything? You must be hurt. That was a pretty hard fall", Miguel seemed so concerned.
"I'm not sure. I haven't checked yet. Though I do feel a little pain on my knees"
"I'm so sorry. How about I take you to the clinic. Then we can go grab a snack. My treat. I just feel so bad.", Miguel told Isabelle with such sympathy Isabelle just wanted to hug him.
They rode the first vehicle that passed through The Academy and sat side by side. Like in the chariot. Isabelle flushed.
"My name's Richard by the way", he said with his hand extended towards hers. Isabelle smiled.
"Isabelle.", She shook his hand. Not daring to let go but she didn't want to act stupid again.
So his name wasn't Miguel. Her mystery guy wasn't so mysterious anymore. She finally had found out the name of her dream guy. Maybe this day would turn out better than what was expected. Richard. They were seated together, smiling and talking during the whole trip.

".No matter how many times I get hurt because of you, I won't leave you. Because even if I have a hundred reasons to leave you, I'll look for that one reason to fight for you."
Chapter 49 - Decision
They entered a cafe called Skies. Richard opened the door for Isabelle. She smiled. Her heart didn't stop beating fast ever since their encounter at the school's gate. She couldn't believe this was actually happening. It was literally like being in heaven. They picked the right place to stay. The ceiling was painted with beautiful clouds and colorful lights glistening throughout the whole room. Each table had flowers as their centerpiece and it's aroma filled the place. Isabelle really felt that this was all a dream. She was with Richard. The man who made her head spin and her heart grow crazy. She was standing beside him. They were in the same place and this time, they were actually talking to each other. Now, they knew each other. He wouldn't be the "mystery guy" anymore. He would be "Isabelle's guy". The guy who would be there for her. The guy who would offer everything he had just to be with her. The guy who lived to serve her. The guy who would visit her everyday just to say the words, "I love you". The guy who wouldn't be afraid to shout her name to express what he feels. The man that she would call her own. Richard.
"Wow", Isabelle managed to say.
"Glad you like it", Miguel said with a smile that Isabelle couldn't get tired of. It was almost angelic. Heaven, Isabelle thought.
"So how about we take a sit?"
"Sure"
They took the table near the windows. The view was wonderful. The stars lighted the night sky and people walked along the roads. It was a Friday night so the streets were busy from families gathering to watch a movie to couples holding hands at the park. Couples. Isabelle blushed. She was with a guy in a cafe. And not just any guy, he was the guy she loved. She dreamed of this moment for so long. And it was now happening. They were seated across each other. More like a couple than just friends, just acquaintances actually. He was looking at the Menu with such poise. Reading through all the choices.
"So, what will you have? My treat remember?", Miguel asked.
Isabelle was startled. She was so caught up in the moment that she didn't realize she was blankly staring at the Menu. She didn't know what they served. She quickly scanned the Menu; but she couldn't read the words. Her mind wasn't functioning correctly with Miguel looking directly at her.
"How about you pick. It's my first time here so I don't really know what to choose.", Isabelle stalled.
"Well okay then", Richard said with a laugh. A cute laugh Isabelle thought.
Miguel called the waiter and told their orders.
Isabelle suddenly remembered her parents. They must be worried. She hadn't told what had happened and they might still be waiting at the campus.
"Excuse me. Sorry. I forgot to call my parents"
"Ah. I understand. I'll wait."
Isabelle couldn't be dazzled more. She got up from her seat and got to the phone. As expected, her parents were fuming. She told them she was with a friend. But didn't stress further on that. Her mind was back on track. She hung up and suddenly remembered one topic they haven't talked about. Isabelle arrived at their table and seated quietly across from Richard.
"So. Tell me what was happening at the chariot?", Isabelle said with such certainty.

".No matter what happens, love can break any boundaries."
Chapter 50 - The End
Richard looked up from the table. He was speechless. Shocked. The question was unexpected but Isabelle was firm. She wanted an answer. She needed an answer. It lingered on her mind for almost a year. Everything that was happening in the chariot. Every single detail involving her and her so - called mystery guy Miguel. She wanted to know what was the real score. What were all those stares and touches in almost every single ride towards The Academy. What did all those "signals" and "signs" mean. Why they never even communicated. He didn't even ask for her name let alone say a mere "hello" to her and yet he would make eye contact or show body languages that made Isabelle's heart beat to a rhythm. It was the moments at the chariot that started it all. That made Isabelle confused on who her heart belongs to. On which person she would fall in love with. All she needed was an explanation. Why nothing ever happened in the chariot, no advancement to the next step just some petty signs. She wanted to know what was happening in the chariot, happening between her and Richard.
"What are you talking about?", Richard asked confusion present on his face. Isabelle was even more confused. What kind of response was that? Was Richard drunk every single day that he didn't remember the simple moments they had? Those looks he would give to Isabelle and the simple touches his hand would place over hers. Isabelle saddened then became angry.
"What do you mean 'what am I talking about?'", Isabelle asked fiercely, "Don't you remember anything? Haven't you been paying attention to everything that was happening in the chariot? Those things you have been doing, that we've been doing? The stares, the touches, the times we've sat side by side? Don't you recognize me at all?"
Isabelle's eyes were starting to blur. She felt tears streaming down like a waterfall. She couldn't believe Richard. Was all that had happened her imagination? Maybe this whole thing was just a dream. An illusion.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe you've mistaken me for another person. I seriously haven't known you until now."
"Look again Richard. Are you sure? You just met me?! The chariot, Richard. The village. Our village. The chariot we ride everyday to school. Remember?"
Richard bit his lip. He looked at Isabelle. Really looked at her. And he can't help but feel a recognition. He did know her. He saw her everyday. How could he be so stupid not to recognize her at that very instant they saw one another. He shook his head.
"I remember now. You're that girl. My mystery girl. The girl I've wanted to talk to but didn't have to guts to carry on with it. You were always at that side of the chariot where the sun would strike and I couldn't see much of your face or you would be beside me so I couldn't turn my head and see your face. I was stupid. Stupid not to talk to you. Stupid to give those stares while getting your hopes up and not even doing any action. But I was scared. Scared of rejection. I guess you could call it an ego. I'm sorry I didn't recognize you. Sorry for all the signs I made that never led to anything."
This time it was Isabelle who was speechless. What was she suppose to say? An apology? Forgiveness? What was to respond to what Richard had told her. Her question was answered that's for sure. But was it really the response she was hoping for? She didn't feel anything. It was an apology. Richard was giving her an apology. He was saying sorry for what he had done. He was asking for forgiveness for getting her hopes up. Giving her an answer she never dreamed of hearing.
"Sorry? That's it? Your asking for my forgiveness? Well then with that explanation. What else can I say? You were forgiven from very moment you left my heart beat for you. From that first look we've given each other". Isabelle and Richard were standing. The conversation was intense. They didn't notice that there hands were rolled to fists and eyes surrounded them. They didn't care. For a year they have been waiting for this to come. The confrontation. But Isabelle just became disappointed. It wasn't the answer she was hoping for. What did he expect? Isabelle would smile and put everything behind her? He made her fall in love and wishing that one day the time would come when they would be together and all he could say was an explanation.
Isabelle shook her head and started to leave. She ran. Richard chased her. Tears were streaming down her face. The lovely evening turned out to be a nightmare. She ran fast never looking back. Her heart was shattering. She didn't want to look at Richard nor did she want another ride in the chariot. But Richard was fast and caught up with her. He got her hand and pulled her towards him. Isabelle still didn't look up.
"Look I'm sorry okay. I didn't mean to hurt you.", Richard said pleadingly.
"I told you you're forgiven. It's fine. Just leave me alone.", Isabelle's voice croaked.
"Why?"
"Just leave okay. I shouldn't have expected anything from you. I just kept hoping. I kept on expecting that something would happen. And it turned out like this. It's better if we just forget about this. Forget about everything. It's better this way."
Isabelle started to leave again. But Richard held her hand tight.
"I'm not gonna lose you. Now that we've finally met one another."
"Look. It would be easier if we just forget about it. okay?"
"No it's not okay. Isabelle I love you".
Isabelle froze. He said her name. She looked up and Richard's eyes were staring toward hers hitting her heart. It started beating again. And the shattered pieces started assembling itself. It finally found its match. Isabelle didn't know what to do. Her guy. The mystery guy she'd been dreaming for months finally said what she'd been waiting for. 3 words. Those 3 words made her feel like the only girl in the world. The happiest girl in the world. And the most special person in the life of one guy. Isabelle couldn't help but hug him. They hugged under the moonlight. Their hearts beat as one. Her choice. The choice of her heart. Richard.
"I love you too.", Isabelle said with a faint whisper.
